Endurance Coaching

For runners, cyclists and triathletes who want a plan built around their event, not a generic template. Coached by a four-time full Ironman finisher.

Who this is for

From your first 5K to full Ironman

Endurance coaching is for anyone training towards a running, cycling or triathlon goal, whatever stage you're at. That includes:

  • First-timers preparing for a 5K, 10K or first half marathon
  • Marathon and half marathon runners chasing a specific time
  • Cyclists preparing for a sportive or road race
  • Triathletes training for sprint through to full Ironman distance
  • Ultra and endurance-challenge athletes with big-mileage goals
  • Experienced age-groupers who want smarter training, not just more of it

How it works

From first conversation to race day

A conversation about your goal

We talk through your event, current training, past experience and the time you genuinely have available each week.

An individualised training plan

Built around your event date, current fitness and weekly schedule, not a downloaded template. Delivered in person or online.

Regular check-ins & adjustments

Progress, energy, niggles and life admin all get factored in. Plans move when your circumstances do.

Race preparation & taper

Pacing strategy, taper planning and race-day logistics, so the goal you've trained for is the goal you actually achieve.

Now training for Ironman Wales

"I first approached Mike for a training plan for Valencia Marathon and Swansea Half Marathon. I PB'd both events! Mike is now coaching me towards my second Ironman Wales event. He understands life's demands, and the balance between training, work and family, his plans are realistic and achievable. He's regularly checking in on progress, feelings and injuries, and always available for advice and encouragement."

Frequently asked

Endurance coaching: common questions

How does endurance coaching with Mike work?

It starts with a conversation about your event, current training and available time. Mike builds an individualised plan around that, in person at his studio near Crickhowell or online, with regular check-ins and adjustments as training progresses.

Who is endurance coaching suitable for?

Anyone training towards a running, cycling or triathlon goal, from complete beginners preparing for a first 5K to experienced age-group athletes training for Ironman-distance events.

Do I need previous experience to start?

No. Mike coaches complete beginners through to competitive athletes. Your plan starts from wherever you currently are.

Can I train in person and online at the same time?

Yes, many clients combine occasional in-person sessions at the studio with an online-delivered plan for the rest of the week. See Online Coaching for more detail.
